If you love sliders (AKA baby burgers), here’s some good new for you. My blue cheese sliders only have 413 calories per serving. Know what else is great? Each serving equals two sliders. What a bargain! Enjoy!
Blue Cheese Sliders:
1/4 teaspoon Sea salt
1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper
1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
16 ounces ground sirloin (93% lean)
8 Slider Buns (80 calories or less per bun), toasted, if desired
1 shallot, sliced
Torn Lettuce leaves
1/2 Roma Tomato, sliced
2 teaspoons olive oil
In a small container, mix first four dry seasonings and set aside. In a bowl, combine ground sirloin with Worcestershire. Form 8 small, equal patties and sprinkle both sides with seasoning mix. Heat 1 teaspoon of olive oil in a skillet. Add 4 slider patties to the skillet and cook for 4 minutes. Turn sliders and cook for another 4-6 minutes. Remove and set aside on a plate. Add remaining teaspoon of olive oil and remaining 4 sliders patties and cook as above.
To assemble the sliders, start with the bottom bun and add lettuce, tomato, slider patty, dollop of blue cheese sauce (recipe below), shallot slices, and then the bun top.
Blue Cheese Sauce:
1/4 cup Blue cheese
2 Tablespoons low fat Sour cream
2 Tablespoons low fat mayo
Pinch of Black Pepper
A few dashes of hot sauce
Stir all ingredients together in a small bowl.
